Last time I talked about cats and dogs. This time I want to discuss other pets that I have seen out in public. Here are a few examples:

This is "monkey business"

Monkey:
I remember in one city I was visiting, I saw a guy with a monkey. He had trained the monkey to fight him, and this is how he made money it seemed. The monkey would hit the man with a stick, and it was quite funny to watch.

This parrot is hungry

Parrot:
We have parrots in the US as well, but for me, it is very strange to see a parrot speaking Chinese, and inside a restaurant too! This parrot was in a teppanyaki restaurant (铁板饭馆) and would repeat everything the owners said. Unfortunately, the owners were having marriage problems, so the parrot repeated all their arguments. It was fun to watch.

This is my old fish tank. Only one of these fish lived passed 1 week

Fish:
Fish seem to be less popular here than I thought. But some families have fish, as they are easy to take care of and don’t make noise. I used to have some fish, but most of them died within a week. Fish are more popular in parks I guess.

Colored baby chickens! Only ¥3!

Colorful Chickens:
I saw this in one city I worked in, chickens colored green, purple, red, etc. They looked really cute, but my friend told me that these guys usually don’t live very long.
