I've lived here for while now, and I have eaten a lot of Chinese food. I could talk about how Chinese food in China is different in the U.S., how the dishes are not the same, but I've thought about something different. Which Chinese food dishes are similar to each other? I have found some of the dishes in the U.S. taste similar to what I've eaten here. Again, this is my opinion, so maybe people who have traveled have had different experiences.

Kung Pao Chicken, or 宫保鸡丁 is served in every Chinese restaurant in the U.S. Maybe different restaurants have different flavors, but the ingredients, (chicken, peanuts, a little spice) generally remain the same. And the taste is very similar over all.

You can order dumplings 饺子 in the U.S. as well, although the dumpling might be a little thicker. And most of the time it will be a pork dumpling, but it won't be too different from what you can order here.

Fried rice 炒饭 is prepared practically the same way, even though maybe in the U.S. they will add more soy sauce to make it look darker or maybe add more ingredients to make it more of a meal.

Hot and sour soup 酸辣汤 tastes practically the same in the U.S. restaurants I've eaten at as it does here.

And those are the Chinese dishes that I've eaten here that actually remind me of eating back at home. What do you think? Do you agree? What dishes do you think should taste the same?
