What is a pickup line? As you guys have seen from the video, a pickup line is a short sentence that one can use to get a phone number or companionship from someone you meet. In other words, you “pickup a new girlfriend or boyfriend by saying a pickup line. The video showed some pickup lines, but here are some more English pickup lines:

“Baby, if you were a fruit, you would be a fineapple” (Fine = 好看，and fineapple sounds like pineapple)

“If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put U and I together” (another pun……..)

“Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” (This means you are calling her an angel)

“Can I follow you home? My parents always told me to follow my dreams” (This means she is your dream girl/dream boy)

Pickup lines are in all languages. In fact, I think Chinese even has some such as this one that a friend told me:

“我可以拍张你的照片吗?” “为什么?” “这样我才可以跟圣诞老人说我想要什么圣诞节礼物！”

Do pickup lines work? Well, if you are trying to act like a desperate creep, then yes they work. What pickup lines do you know? I am quite interested!
