Death is unpredictable, no one ever knows when they will die.  Everyone hopes they will live a long life and die peacefully surrounded by loved ones, but life isn't always like that.  In fact, sometimes life is cruel, and some people have died in strange ways.  Here are some people who died in very unusual ways.

Draco (620 BC)
Draco was a law maker in Athens.  He wrote many of the city's laws.  The Athenian people thought the laws were very fair and just, and decided to give him as many gifts as possible.  So, one day, the Athenian people threw gifts of cloaks, hats, and other things at him, as was Athenian tradition.  Unfortunately, Draco was crushed to death because there were too many gifts.  Death by kindness.

Aeschylus (455 BC)
Another man from Athens, he was a famous author of Ancient Greek tragedies.  He was also bald.  In fact, his baldness was the cause of his death.  One day a bird was hungry and wanted to eat a turtle, so it grabbed the turtle.  However, the turtle’s shell was too hard, so the bird needed to find a rock to break the shell.  The bird saw Aeschylus’ bald head, and thought his head was a rock, so it dropped the turtle on his head, killing both the turtle and Aeschylus.  If you are bald, be careful of birds with turtles!

He was an Ancient Greek philosopher.  One day he saw a donkey trying to eat a fig.  He then ordered a slave to give the donkey wine, and then watched as the drunk donkey tried to eat more figs.  He laughed so hard that he died from laughter.

Danish astronomer, who helped inspire many astronomical theories, as well as a colleague of Johannes Kepler(another astronomer).  One night he was at a dinner party and drank a lot of wine, but he didn't want to use the restroom, because he didn't want to be rude.  This caused his bladder to explode once the party was over, and he died a painful eleven days later.  So remember, if you need to pee, do not wait.
