You all know what Valentine’s Day is. And you all know what White Day is, and 5-20 is, etc. These are all lover’s holidays for couples to celebrate their love. But what about single people? What do they do?
In the US, more and more people are becoming tired of Valentine’s Day. Instead, many people who are single choose to celebrate “Single’s Awareness Day”. On this day, people who are single celebrate that they are either proud to be single, or just protest against the “Halmark Holiday” of Valentine’s Day (A Hallmark Holiday is a holiday that was created by stores so that they can sell more cards and products)
Single’s Awareness Day is celebrated on Feb 14th and 15th. On this holiday, people can celebrate it in many ways:
Volunteering to show that they love their community instead of just one person
Attending single’s events such as speed dating at bars to try to hook-up and find a significant other (this is desperate though)

20 dates in 1 hour is not a bad deal though.

Treating oneself (like buying yourself flowers, buying yourself a gift) buying yourself a fancy meal, etc)
Travelling. One popular destination is Brazil, where during this time they celebrate Carnival, one of the sexiest holidays that definitely more for single people.

Carnival is usually celebrated in February.

Wearing green, because green is the opposite of red (red is the official color of Valentine’s Day)
Either way, Single’s Awareness Day is an amazing joke holiday that can be celebrated by proud singles, or by desperate love-sick dreamers. Personally I love this holiday, because it is the only day I receive flowers…..from myself.
