After WWII, this mustache became unpopular.  This is because this mustache was worn by another famous person…..Adolf Hitler.  Adolf Hitler’s whole image revolved around this mustache, that after the war, the mustache had negative connotations, thus making people much less willing to have the mustache. In fact, to this day, whenever people see this mustache, they think of Adolf Hitler.....which is probably way it is very unfashionable now.
