Many Chinese have come to America and have become famous. Most are actors and directors, but some are also sports stars and designers as well.

The most famous one is Jackie Chan (成龙). He has made many films in the US, such as Rush Hour 《尖峰时刻》and Shanghai Noon《上海正午》, which are kung fu comedies. Bruce Lee (李小龙) is also the very famous, remembered for movies such as Enter the Dragon《龙争虎斗》. In fact, he made kung fu popular in the West.

Ang Lee (李安) is the most famous Chinese director in the US. His movies, such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 《卧虎藏龙》, Brokeback Mountain《断背山》 and Life of PI 《少年派的奇幻漂流》are loved by critics. John Woo (吴宇森) has also made some movies in the US, such as Face/Off《变脸》.

Yao Ming (姚明) is probably the most famous Chinese athlete who came to the US. He played for the Houston Rockets (休斯顿的火箭), and when he came to the US, the media made a big deal about how tall he was!
